PIXELEXR is an independent film and visual effects studio built around end-to-end storytelling. Artist-led and proudly indie, the studio approaches every project with a story-first mindset. We support work from early development through post-production and visual effects.
What PIXELEXR Means
The name PIXELEXR comes from two ideas: Pixel and EXR. Pixels represent the building blocks of the films, visual effects, and digital art we create — the foundation of our visual storytelling. EXR references the high-dynamic-range file format used in professional VFX and compositing, symbolizing creativity, flexibility, and technical precision. Together, PIXELEXR shows our commitment to combining artistry with technical craft in every project.
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, PIXELEXR collaborates with filmmakers and creatives worldwide. We value process, intention, and creative integrity. In addition, we aim to expand our creative roster and offer workshops and learning opportunities in the future.
